The ceremony with local officials and dignitaries will take place at the east side of the center, about midway between Sprouts Farmers Market and HomeGoods. The public is invited to attend.
QC District developer Thompson Thrift Retail Group will host the event. Guest speakers will include Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney and Town Manager John Kross, as well as Thompson Thrift Managing Partner Ashlee Boyd, Chelsea Hudelson, retail marketing coordinator for Thompson Thrift, said during a phone interview Sept. 12.
A ribbon-cutting ceremony has been planned.
No prize giveaways are planned for the low-key event, Ms. Hudelson said.
Phase I of the retail center encompasses 16 acres of retail and dining options including Sprouts, HomeGoods, Starbucks, Red Robin, MOD Pizza, Café Rio, Menchie’s, Supercuts, Visionworks and Pet Planet, among many others.
Scheduled to open in the near future, according to Ms. Hudelson, are:

•Lydian Dental, to be announced
•Massage Green, to be announced
Phase II will be a 4-acre development slated to include either an entertainment district or high density, upscale multi-family mixed-use residential-retail community which will be developed at a later date, according to the town of Queen Creek website: www.queencreek.org.
