No major construction or maintenance closures are scheduled along Phoenix-area freeways this weekend (Dec. 2-5), although some freeway ramp or cross-street restrictions are planned. The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers plan ahead, allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:
- Southbound Interstate 17 on-ramp at Daisy Mountain Drive (Anthem area) closed from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday (Dec. 3) for pavement improvements. Consider using southbound Gavilan Peak Parkway to westbound Pioneer Road to access southbound I-17. Southbound on-ramp at Anthem Way will be open.
- Eastbound Glendale Avenue closed at I-17 from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Dec. 5) for city of Phoenix pavement work. Turns from eastbound Glendale Avenue to I-17 will be limited over the weekend. Consider using eastbound Bethany Home Road or Northern Avenue as alternate routes.
Additional freeway-restriction information will be posted at azdot.gov, under ADOT News. Visit the site to also subscribe to ADOT e-mail updates, including weekend restriction information.

ADOT plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other improvements as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region. The primary funding source for regional freeway improvements is a half-cent sales tax approved by county voters in 2004.
