Queen Creek residents have until 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 29, to contribute mementos for inclusion in its 25th anniversary time capsule, Mark Clark, the town’s public information officer, said during a phone interview Dec. 18.
Residents are asked to submit small items that signify what made life in Queen Creek memorable during 2014, according to a press release.
Town officials encourage families to write letters to future residents, bring special photographs of family enjoying the town facilities, fliers, news clippings or other representative items to drop in the time capsule.
Materials may be dropped off from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Thursday at the Municipal Services Building, 22358 S. Ellsworth Road, or from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday at the Library Recreation Annex, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road, according to the release.
To ensure that there is enough space for everyone’s items in the time capsule, submissions should be limited to the size of a standard letter or 5-inch by 7-inch photograph.
Once all of the items are encased in the time capsule, it will be buried Dec. 31 at Founders’ Park, across the street from the Municipal Services Building.
