A message from Queen Creek High School Band Director Jacob Campos, as posted today on the school’s Facebook page:
I wanted to inform you of the Queen Creek High School Marching Band’s success this past weekend. Our band competed in the ABODA State Festival, qualifying for the second year in a row (a first for our program).
At this festival we placed eighth overall which qualified us for the State Marching Band Championships at 1:45 p.m. this Saturday, Nov. 12, at Glendale Community College.
This is the first time in school history that the Queen Creek band has qualified for championships and it is an honor to be seeded as the eighth best band in our division.
Our band is going to be working hard to try and move up even more in placement and with that being said I would like to invite you all and any other district members, community members and faculty members to watch our rehearsal Friday evening (Nov. 11) at 7 p.m. in our stadium to send the band off to our championship performance on Saturday.
We will perform Saturday the 12th at 1:45 p.m. (in Glendale) and hope to see many school and community members there to support the band.
Thank you for your continued support of our program.
Editor’s note: The public is invited to support the band by viewing this Friday’s rehearsal that starts at 7 p.m. Nov. 11 at Queen Creek High School, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road.
