Cold Stone Creamery in Queen Creek raises $3,650 for local nonprofits, schools

As part of its 10th anniversary celebration, Cold Stone Creamery, 7507 S. Power Road Suite 104 in Queen Creek, donated 50 percent of all its sales Sept. 7-11 to schools and nonprofit groups that help in the community.

An individual group was designated to receive its share of a specified day’s sales.

The company raised a $3,650, store owner Joe Kolnick told the Queen Creek Independent in an e-mail.

The money was distributed as follows: $570 to Sossaman Middle and Williams Field High schools’ music programs; $480 to Cortina and Centennial elementary schools; $980 to Higley High School Best Buddies program; $1,000 to House of Refuge, Arizona State University East; and $620 to 100 Club of Arizona to assist families of police officers and fire personnel killed or injured in the line of duty.
