Each store plans to hire about 100 full- and part-time employees. Mr. Romero declined to say what the starting wage is, but said the company offers a competitive benefits package and tends to promote from within, having in 2015 promoted 20 percent of its workforce.

The store hours for both stores will be 7 a.m.-10 p.m. daily, Mr. Romero said.

The Sprouts in Queen Creek will hold its grand opening starting at 7 a.m. May 4. The first 200 guests in line will receive 20 percent off that day’s purchases and all customers that day will receive a free reusable shopping bag, Mr. Romero said. There also will be numerous dollar deals and other special savings, he said.

The Queen Creek store, in conjunction with Banner Health Medical Center, also will hold a health and wellness talk on-site the morning of Saturday, May 7, Mr. Romero said. Additional details are being worked out, he added.

(Editor’s note: The Banner Healthmobile is unable to participate in the May 7 event as reported earlier.)

“Our relationship with Banner Health is a fun partnership for us as it raises awareness of food for health and as medicine,” Mr. Romero said.

The new Chandler store also will host a special event. At 11 a.m. Saturday, April 30, the store will host “Hungry Girl” Lisa Lillien, the founder of www.hungry-girl.com, the free daily e-mail service with healthy recipes and food tips that has more than 2.5 million e-mail subscribers and social media followers, according to its website; author and host of the television show of the same name.

Ms. Lillien will sign and sell copies of her latest book: “Hungry Girl Clean & Hungry: Easy All-Natural Recipes for Healthy Eating in the Real World,” according to her Facebook page. The event also will feature free snacks and coupons; recipe tastings; giveaways such as Hungry Girl hoodies, T-shirts, caps and tote bags; and the book signing. Ms. Lillien also will take selfies with fans, according to the Facebook post.

The event is free.
