First 1,000 customers at grand opening will receive reusable shopping tote

Off-price home décor retailer, HomeGoods, will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 8 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 21, to open its new Queen Creek store at 21351 S. Ellsworth Loop Road. Special grand opening day hours will be 8 a.m.-8 p.m.

The 21,139-square-foot store is in the QC District retail center on the southwest corner of Rittenhouse and Ellsworth Loop roads. It will be the company’s eighth store in the Phoenix market.

The first 1,000 customers on grand opening day will receive a reusable shopping tote bag, Lisa Zahn, a public relations representative for HomeGoods marketing, said during a phone interview Aug. 15.

Visitors also could have an opportunity to win a $1,000 HomeGoods shopping spree. One way to enter is to complete the form in the HomeGoods advertisement found on the back page of the Aug. 17, 2016, issue of the Queen Creek Independent and bring it to the store during the Aug. 21 grand opening.

The sweepstakes begins at 8 a.m. Aug. 21 and ends at 8 p.m. Aug. 28. Official rules are available at www.homegoods.com/gorulesqueencreek.

A free copy of the Queen Creek Independent may be picked up in the lobbies of the Queen Creek Municipal Services Building at 22358 S. Ellsworth Road, and the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce at at 22246 S. Ellsworth Road.

The Independent may not be delivered to the lobbies until Wednesday. To check on availability, call the municipal services building at 480-358-3000 or the chamber office at 480-888-1709.

In addition, there will be a store preview for TJX credit card-holders 4-7 p.m. Aug. 20, Ms. Zahn said.

HomeGoods is a division of The TJX Companies Inc. As of April 30, the company operated more than 3,600 stores including T.J.Maxx, Marshalls, HomeGoods and Sierra Trading Post stores, according to its website.

HomeGoods merchandise departments include furniture, rugs, lighting, decorative accessories, gourmet kitchen and dining, bedding, bath, kids’ décor and toys, outdoor living, pet accessories, storage and workspace.

Regular store hours in Queen Creek will be 9:30 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday and 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Sunday.

The Queen Creek store hired approximately 65 full- and part-time employees, Ms. Zahn said.
