San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce: Here’s to a happy and healthy 2015 – let’s make it a great year

Happy new year from the San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce. 2014 was an amazing year for the chamber – and we’re just getting started.

Last spring, we were so proud to merge the Greater San Tan Chamber and the San Tan Valley Chamber into one united chamber of commerce. Shortly after, members voted to move forward as the San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce and we’ve continued to grow ever since. Can you believe we now have over 300 members?

Combining the traditions and events of both chambers, we had some great experiences these past months. Our Lunch and Learn events at Central Arizona College were a huge success and have featured talented guest speakers. Our monthly mixers at beautiful Encanterra were enjoyable and provided stellar networking opportunities for our members. We also had a great time at the second annual San Tan Valley Round Up, a tradition that brings out the entire community.

The San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce is a place where “ Business , Community and Education Come Together” and we will continue to work hard to be the organization that helps bring the best and brightest of San Tan Valley together to build a better future for our area. Combining two chambers into one was not easy and it took a lot of effort to get organized. Now we are ready to move full force into 2015 with new positive changes that will benefit our members and our community.

Angela Smith has graciously served as our interim executive director during this merger and has helped the organization tremendously. We are extremely grateful for the help and guidance she has given the chamber; however, she now plans to focus on her business , Keep It Local Arizona, and continue with active membership. Angela is a talented lady and we thank her for her time and effort.

The San Tan Valley Chamber of Commerce represents an unincorporated area of Pinal County. Without any monetary assistance from a municipality, we rely on membership and volunteers to remain a sustainable organization. Thank you, sincerely, for your continued encouragement and support. We appreciate our valuable members and look forward to growing stronger together in 2015.

As always, we welcome your suggestions. In fact, our board nomination committee is seeking new candidates for upcoming board of director positions. If you’re interested in serving, e-mail with a one-page summary of your experiences and qualifications, as well as a statement of why you wish to serve.

Here’s to a happy and healthy 2015 – let’s make it a great year.
