U.S. Sen. John McCain, of Arizona, will be in Queen Creek July 27 to participate in an open round table with area businesses from 1:30 p.m. to 2:45 p.m.

The event was originally scheduled to take place at the Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce, 22246 S. Ellsworth Road. However, the venue has been changed to the community room at Communiversity at Queen Creek, 21740 S. Ellsworth Road, to accommodate the large number of people who have responded to attend.

As of Tuesday morning, 59 people had registered for the event, Kayla Geoffroy, administrative assistant at the chamber, said during an interview.

The event is free and open to the community; however, an RSVP is required. Light refreshments will be served.

Queen Creek Chamber of Commerce President/CEO Chris Clark told the Queen Creek Independent the senator had contacted the chamber office to set up the get-together with area merchants and business owners.

To reserve a space, visit the chamber website. For more information, call 480-888-1709.
