SRP truck to dole out free popsicles through Sept. 5

In a continued effort to inform and inspire customers to make changes in their electricity use, SRP will help unsuspecting customers alleviate the heat with a frozen treat and spread the message of energy efficiency, according to a press release.

The SRP-branded popsicle truck will make the rounds two to three times a week in SRP’s territory from July 25 to Sept. 5. Free frozen treats will be handed out at unannounced times and locations such as parks, hospitals and park and ride lots, according to the release.

“This tour is part of SRP’s ‘This is How Good It Feels to Save’ energy-efficiency campaign, which launched in 2013,” Cindy Marzofka, director of marketing and brand management, said in the release. “We continually engage customers in new and memorable ways to inspire them to save energy and money.”

Customers can enter to win an energy-efficiency gift basket containing an iPad mini by taking a selfie next to the truck or a popsicle prop available on location. Pictures posted on Instagram, Twitter or SRP’s Facebook page using #SRPFeelGoodTour will be entered to win. For contest rules, visit
