Floodwaters close segment of State Route 88 near Apache Lake

Flooding northeast of Apache Junction has required the closure of State Route 88 between the Apache Lake Marina (milepost 229) and Tortilla Flat (milepost 213), according to a press release from the Arizona Department of Transportation.

SR 88 is expected to remain closed in that area for several days until water overtopping the highway subsides.

ADOT advises drivers to proceed through the work zone with caution, slow down and be alert for construction equipment and personnel.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned highway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule.
