Celebrate the return of spring training baseball with A Day at the Diamond

Celebrate the return of spring training baseball with A Day at the Diamond 12:30-5:30 p.m Saturday, Feb. 27 at Sloan Park, 2330 W. Rio Salado Parkway, and surrounding areas at the spring training home of the Chicago Cubs.

The free event will include numerous fun activities for the whole family.  There will be baseball clinics for the kids; family fun and games including bounce houses, a zip line and obstacle course; live music; food and beverages for sale at Sloan Park concession stands and a sports card show. The Chicago Cubs team shop will also be open to sell souvenirs and the box office will be selling tickets to spring training games.

Sponsors of A Day at the Diamond include the Chicago Cubs; Visit Mesa; city of Mesa and Mesa Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities.

With the Chicago Cubs at Sloan Park and the Oakland Athletics at Hohokam Stadium, Mesa hosts two spring training teams in state-of-the-art facilities, making it a destination for Cactus League spring training baseball.
