I-10 West closed this weekend near downtown Phoenix, ADOT says

A closure of westbound I-10 near downtown Phoenix is scheduled this weekend for work in and near the Deck Park Tunnel, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers, including those traveling to the Arizona State Fair, are asked to allow extra travel time and to be prepared to use alternate routes.

Other weekend freeway closures are scheduled this weekend, as ADOT focuses on finishing freeway-improvement work prior to next month’s start of the holiday travel season.

Westbound I-10 will be closed between the I-17 “Split” interchange near Sky Harbor Airport and Seventh Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23, to 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 26, for Deck Park Tunnel maintenance and improvement work. The southbound State Route 51 ramp to westbound I-10 also will be closed. The westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) ramp to westbound I-10 will remain open but traffic will exit at Seventh Street and detour along McDowell Road. Westbound I-10 traffic near Sky Harbor will detour north on I-17 and can reconnect with I-10 at the “Stack” interchange north of Van Buren Street.
