Red Mountain Freeway closed this weekend, Loop 101 to Country Club Drive

Loop 202 eastbound (Red Mountain Freeway) will be closed between Loop 101 and Country Club Drive this weekend for a widening project. Allow for extra travel time while the following closures are in place 10 p.m. Friday to 10 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 1:

  • Loop 202 eastbound (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Loop 101 and Country Club Drive for widening project. Both Loop 101 ramps to Loop 202 eastbound closed. Loop 202 eastbound ramps to Loop 101 be open. Consider alternate routes. Drivers can exit to southbound McClintock Drive and use eastbound Rio Salado Parkway.
  • Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) narrowed to two lanes between Country Club Drive and Gilbert Road.
  • Dobson and Alma School roads eastbound on-ramps at Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed.

ADOT works to inform the public about planned freeway restrictions, but there is a possibility that unscheduled closures or restrictions may occur. Weather can also affect a project schedule. The Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) improvement project is adding one new general travel lane in each direction between Loop 101 and Gilbert Road and one High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction between Gilbert and Broadway roads.
