Restrictions along U.S. 60 this weekend

Freeway-improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions in the Phoenix area this weekend (Aug. 21-24). The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers plan ahead, consider alternate routes or adjust travel schedules and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Southbound Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) closed at Chaparral Road from 11:30 p.m. Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) for message-sign installation. Northbound Loop 101 HOV lane also closed at Chaparral. DETOUR: Southbound traffic will detour on the off- and on-ramps at Chaparral Road. Please allow extra travel time.

 

  • Westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to one lane in areas between Country Club Drive and Interstate 10 from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 22) for lane-marker installation. DETOUR: Alternate routes include westbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway).

 

  • Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to one lane in areas between Interstate 10 and Country Club Drive from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) for lane-marker installation. DETOUR: Alternate routes include eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway).

 

  • Eastbound Loop 101 off-ramp at Cave Creek Road restricted with no right turns to southbound Cave Creek Road from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday (Aug. 22-23) for Cox Communications utility work. Southbound Cave Creek Road right lane also closed between Rose Garden Lane and Loop 101 with no right turns to westbound Loop 101 on-ramp or frontage road. DETOUR: Consider alternate routes, including westbound Deer Valley Road to southbound Seventh Street, to access westbound Loop 101.

 

  • Eastbound Peoria Avenue closed at Interstate 17 from 10 p.m. Friday to 3 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) for maintenance. No left turns allowed from southbound I-17 off-ramp to eastbound Peoria Avenue. DETOUR: Eastbound Peoria Avenue traffic will detour to southbound I-17 frontage road. Alternate routes include eastbound Dunlap Avenue and Cactus Road.

 

  • Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) narrowed to two lanes in both directions overnight between Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (Aug. 22) and from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) for construction. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and use caution in work zone.

 

  • Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to one lane overnight in areas between Country Club Drive and Higley Road from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Aug. 24) for lane-marker installation. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and use caution in work zone.

 

  • Alma School Road closed in both directions at Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) from 5 a.m. Saturday to 8 p.m. Sunday (Aug. 23) for bridge work. Loop 202 on- and off-ramps at Alma School Road also closed at times this weekend. DETOUR: Alternate routes include Country Club Drive.
