Restrictions on the 60 and Loop 202

Freeway-improvement projects will require closures or lane restrictions in the Phoenix area this weekend (Sept. 18-21). The Arizona Department of Transportation recommends drivers plan ahead, consider alternate routes or adjust travel schedules and use caution in work zones while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Eastbound Loop 202 (Red Mountain Freeway) closed between Loop 101 (Pima Freeway) and Country Club Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21) for widening project rubberized asphalt paving. Both Loop 101 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 also closed. DETOUR: Alternate routes include eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway), or eastbound McDowell Road, Rio Salado Parkway and University Drive. Please allow extra travel time.

 

  • Westbound Loop 202 (Santan Freeway) narrowed to one lane overnight between Williams Field and Gilbert roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 8 a.m. Saturday (Sept. 19) for lane-marker installation. On- and off-ramps in area closed at times. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.

 

  • Westbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) narrowed to one lane overnight between Mill Avenue and I-10 from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday (Sept. 20) for lane-marker installation. Westbound US 60 ramp to eastbound I-10 (toward Tucson) closed. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and consider alternate routes.

 

  • Eastbound US 60 (Superstition Freeway) on- and off-ramps closed at times overnight between I-10 and Dobson Road from 10 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday (Sept. 21) for lane-marker installation. DETOUR: Please allow extra travel time and be prepared to use ramps at nearby interchanges.
