It’s a light schedule for freeway-improvement work requiring closures this weekend (March 4-7), according to the Arizona Department of Transportation. Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead and consider alternate routes while the following restrictions are in place:

  • Westbound Interstate 10 ramp to northbound Loop 303 in Goodyear closed overnight from 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday (March 5) for barrier-wall placement. Consider exiting westbound I-10 at Sarival Avenue and use either the westbound frontage road or McDowell Road to northbound Cotton Lane. Traffic can then connect with northbound Loop 303 via the Thomas Road interchange.
  • Eastbound Interstate 10 on-ramp at 59th Avenue closed from 11 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday (March 5) for maintenance. Consider using other nearby eastbound I-10 on-ramps, including 51st Avenue.

Additional freeway-restriction information will be listed on ADOT’s website, azdot.gov, under ADOT News. Visit the site to also subscribe to ADOT email updates, including weekend restriction information.

ADOT plans and constructs new freeways, additional lanes and other improvements as part of the Regional Transportation Plan for the Maricopa County region. The primary funding source for regional freeway improvements is a half-cent sales tax approved by county voters in 2004. More information about ADOT projects and the regional plan is available at azdot.gov/PhoenixMetro.
