Winter visitor farewell bash planned for Feb. 29

The Arizona Winter Visitors Association will hold its annual farewell bash Monday, Feb. 29, at Weavers Needle RV Resort, 250 S. Tomahawk Road in Apache Junction.

Doors will open at noon for AWVA members, who must show their membership cards, and at 12:30 p.m. for non-members, according to the organization’s website.

Winter visitors do not need to reside in Apache Junction to attend.

Entertainment will be supplied by Dave Webb from The Southwest Surfers and George Staekel from The Rhythm Cats.

Cake will be provided by the Mining Camp Restaurant. Door prizes include a trip on the Grand Canyon Railway, tickets to Barleens Arizona Opry, a trip to Jerome and Sedona, and gift certificates to area restaurants.

Admission is free for members. Admission for non-members is $4 in advance and $5 at the door.

Memberships and advance tickets may be obtained at the AWVA office at 861 W. Superstition Blvd. in Apache Junction.
