Baseball and softball return to J.O. Combs Middle School

J.O. Combs Middle School, 37611 N. Pecan Creek Drive, in San Tan Valley, announced that it is resuming its participation in competitive sports through the Desert Mountain Middle School League. according to a press release. The competitive sports program had been cancelled due to budget override failure, in 2011, according to public information officer, MaryLou Martinez.
Member schools within the league are Maricopa Wells, Desert Wind, Mountain Vista, Hohokam and Cactus Canyon (from Maricopa, Coolidge and Apache Junction school districts).
The Cougars and Lady Cougars began league play for baseball and softball this Thursday, Aug. 28, when they travelled to Desert Wind Middle School
