Combs High wins grant from Salt River Project

Combs High School, 2505 E. Germann Road, has received of the 2014-15 “Arizona Ancient Cultures Awareness” Social Studies Grant sponsored by Salt River Project. Combs High School Social Studies teacher, Debora Painter-Plimley, submitted and was awarded a $2,000 grant by SRP. The grant will allow Combs students to study the rich heritage of ancient Arizona cultures. Students will visit Mesa Grande, Pueblo Grande, Casa Grande, and the Arizona Museumof Natural History to work on archaeological sites and conduct laboratory work relating to the Hohokam culture.
Students’ work will be incorporated into the various museums education programming.
