Combs Middle School picked up a shift at McDonald’s

Staff members and employees from Combs Middle School, 37611 N. Pecan Creek Drive in San Tan Valley, participated in McTeacher Night on April 14 at the local McDonald’s on Ironwood and Ocotillo roads in San Tan Valley.
According to a press release, members of the Combs Middle School faculty worked side-by-side with McDonald’s employees 5-7 p.m. to serve members of the middle school community who came to eat dinner and enjoy one another’s company.
Laura Ridge, Combs Middle School dean of students, served as the hostess greeting patrons as they entered the restaurant.
Several teachers took orders at the registers or sold cookies in the lobby.
According to the release, CMS Principal Mark Mauro relived his youth by working at the sandwich table filling orders; he had worked the same job as a sophomore in high school in 1975.
A number of former middle school students, who are now in high school and are employees at the restaurant, enjoyed working with their former teachers and principal, according to the release.
