Education foundation to host annual golf event Sept. 13

The Queen Creek Schools Education Foundation will host its seventh annual Golf Scramble on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Las Colinas Golf Course, 21515 E. Village Loop Road in Queen Creek.

The event is the organization’s main annual fundraiser that allows it to award scholarships to deserving students, gift cards to employees of the month and teacher grants for innovative programs, according to a press release.

Last year, 90 golfers participated in the event, according to the release.

QCSEF awarded $9,500 in student scholarships last year and recognized 18 employees of the month with $25 gift cards to a local restaurant.

The organization is looking for donations of prizes to raffle at the event, according to the release.

The Queen Creek Independent is mailed each month to 24,000 homes.
