Fifth-grade students at Simonton Elementary School recently participated in the sixth annual egg drop event.

Every year, fifth-grade students at the school, 40300 N Simonton Blvd. in San Tan Valley, get the chance to research and create a design to protect an egg that is dropped from the top of the gym. This is a kick-off to students learning about force and gravity along with pulleys and levers, according to a release.

Simonton Elementary is in the J.O. Combs Unified School District.
