Middle school seeking donations for jazz ensemble

Queen Creek Middle School, 20435 S. Old Ellsworth Road, hopes to start a jazz ensemble in October, but it needs donations to pay for equipment.

The group is meant to give some of the school’s more advanced band students an opportunity to explore the American art form of jazz, according to a district press release.

For the ensemble to get started, the school needs the following equipment: a drum set, cymbals, bass guitar and amplifier, method books and literature, according to the release.

The school has started a campaign on GoFundMe to raise money for the ensemble. For more information or to donate, visit www.gofundme.com/d2avxk.
