QCHS students earned commendation letter

Queen Creek High School Principal Joseph Farnsworth announced recently that Reigen B. Jensen has been named a Commended Student in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship Program. A letter of commendation for the school and National Merit Scholarship Corp., which conducts the program, will be presented by Dr. Farnsworth, to Reigen. About 34,000 Commended Students throughout the nation are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Although they will not continue in the 2016 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards.

Commended Students place among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2016 competition by taking the 2014 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

To date, the school has more than 190 students registered to take the PSAT at 7:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at the high school, 22149 E Ocotillo Road in Queen Creek.
