Ranch Elementary School kindergartners visited Natural History Museum

Ranch Elementary School, 43521 N Kenworthy Road, kindergartners visited the Arizona Museum of Natural History in Mesa.  Students prepared for their trip by reading books about dinosaurs.  They also watched educational videos to give them an idea as to the size and habits of different dinosaurs.  Students compared the different sizes and learned that dinosaurs and humans never lived at the same time.

During their visit, students had the opportunity to view dinosaur fossils and get a true feel of their size. The museum also offers interactive activities for students and chaperones to explore.  One of the favorite activities was panning for gold.  Several students also took advantage of the museum’s Paleo Pit to uncover some fossils.
