On June 3, the Queen Creek Town Council was presented with ceremonial keys to two schools in the Chandler Unified School District opening in July, both in the town of Queen Creek.
Auxier Elementary, 22700 S. Power Road, will include grades kindergarten through six and Casteel High School, 24901 S. Power Road, will include grades seven through 12. Auxier’s Principal Tony Smith presented Mayor Gail Barney with a ceremonial key and shared, “we are really looking forward to being part of your community, and getting involved with Queen Creek. It’s a true honor to be in your Town.” Named after CUSD’s Superintendent, Casteel’s Principal Sandy Lundberg also presented a ceremonial key and added, “we are very excited about the school and to be in Queen Creek, we know we are going to be great partners.”
While the CUSD boundaries have historically included areas of Queen Creek, Auxier and Casteel will be the first CUSD schools that are physically located within the town limits.
“I am excited to welcome these two schools to the community and am thankful in advance for the positive impact they are going to have on the lives of our children,” Mayor Barney said. “They are going to be an asset to our community.”

The Queen Creek Independent is mailed each month to 24,000 homes.
