The Eighth Annual Queen Creek Kids Christmas Car Show and Toy Drive will take place Dec. 10 starting at Queen Creek High School, 22149 E. Ocotillo Road, and cruising over to Desert Mountain Park, 22201 S. Hawes Road. The show will take place from 9 a.m. to noon.

This community event generates toys and food boxes to be distributed to children who may not otherwise experience a bright Christmas.
Each year toys, clothing and food baskets are distributed to children throughout the Queen Creek community, parts of northwest Pinal County, East Mesa, Guadalupe and other areas through our community outreach efforts, according to a press release.

The Queen Creek Family Resource Center, Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Queen Creek Deputies, Queen Creek Fire and Medical, and the Queen Creek Marketplace have partnered for this annual event.

Dash plaques and goodie bags will be given to the first 150 participating car show registrations received online at www.theamcmachine.com.

Registration is $10 plus both an unwrapped toy for a boy and an unwrapped toy for a girl.

Late registrations will be accepted the day of the show. People registering the day of the show may line up at the high school at 8 a.m. to participate in the parade of cars and then complete his or her registration at the park after the parade of cars, Deputy Ivan Lopez, MCSO Queen Creek’s public information officer, said during a phone interview.

The entrants will assemble by 8 a.m. at the Queen Creek High School. At 8:45 a.m., deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office—Queen Creek District 6 will escort the parade of vehicles westbound on Ocotillo Road to Desert Mountain Park.

Complimentary coffee and donuts will be served at the high school staging area for early arrivals who want to join in the cruise to the park.

Entertainment at Desert Mountain Park will include food vendors, a disc jockey, live music by Boomer and Santa Claus for the kids.

There will be prize raffles that will benefit students with special needs. Awards for several classes of car show participants will be presented; registration and donations to the Queen Creek Family Resource Center are tax-deductible.
