The town of Queen Creek Recreation Division is inviting all pet owners to strut their mutt in the “Howl-oween” Canine Costume Contest at this year’s Trunk or Treat event, which will take place Saturday, Oct. 24 at Desert Mountain Park, 22201 S. Hawes Road in Queen Creek.

The contest is free and there will be prizes for each category: funniest, cutest, most original and best group. Participants can register at the event.

Registration will take place 5–6:45 p.m. The costume display and judging will begin at 7 p.m., followed by an awards ceremony.

All pets in the contest must be listed on a completed entry and must be on a leash. The judging decisions are final.

Trunk or Treat will also feature Trunk or Treat Street, a Teen Zombie Yard, carnival games and other family-friendly activities.

The event is presented by Dignity Health Mercy Gilbert Medical Center. Additional support was provided by Pediatrics of Queen Creek, Kids First Pediatric Dentistry, Cornerstone, and Garn and Mason Orthodontics.

For more information, sponsorship opportunities or to host a trunk, carnival game or vendor booth, call Erica Perez with the town of Queen Creek at 480-358-3719 or e-mail her at Erica.Perez@QueenCreek.org.

The Queen Creek Independent is mailed each month to 35,000 homes.
