Wanted: Queen Creek teen zombie actors, directors

0930qc Make Zombie Film Graphic

The town of Queen Creek is calling all teen zombie enthusiasts to make zombie movies.

The town and Cornerstone Church are offering a free evening of zombie fun for seventh through 12th graders from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 3 at the Queen Creek Recreation Annex, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road.

Actors and directors are needed to help make gruesome, ghastly or drop-dead funny zombie films, according to a press release. Students residing outside Queen Creek may participate, according to town spokeswoman Constance Halonen-Wilson.

Directors are invited to bring their own scripts or come and use a provided script. Directors will compete for the grand prize of a 12-month supply of pizza from Papa Murphy’s.

Actors are invited to come in costume or just show up. Make-up and props will be available for use.

The movies created will be debuted at the town’s annual Trunk or Treat Halloween event on Oct. 24 at Desert Mountain Park, 22201 S. Hawes Road in Queen Creek.

Participants who are not able to make the zombie filming night can submit an entry for the Zombie Film Festival online. Entries must be appropriate, under five minutes and created by teens between the ages of 12 and 19.

The deadline for submission is Monday, Oct. 19.

For more information, visit the town’s website or call 480-358-3000.

The Queen Creek Independent is mailed each month to 35,000 homes.
