Five years ago this week the top news stories for the April 28, 2010, Queen Creek Independent, included: East Valley elected leaders often attend conferences, workshops, conventions — and what they call learning opportunities — in various locations throughout the country. The Queen Creek Independent is mailed each month to 35,000 homes.
