Five reappointed to Queen Creek parks, rec advisory committee

During the Sept. 2 Queen Creek Town Council meeting, Dru Alberti, Daniel Babcock, Adam Neville, Mike Shirley and Sylvia Tarin were reappointed to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee. Each member will serve a two-year term through August 2017.

The advisory committee offers assistance and advice to town staff and acts in an advisory capacity to the town council in the development and review of goals and objectives for parks, trails and open spaces in Queen Creek, as well as recreational programs and events, according to a press release.

“We depend on the involvement of residents to help shape the future of our town,” Queen Creek Mayor Gail Barney said in the release. “The town council and I appreciate the time and service of all of our board and commission members. Thank you for your dedication to the Queen Creek community.”

The five Queen Creek residents offer a wealth of experience and provide continuity for the committee, which meets at 6 p.m. in the Municipal Services Building’s San Tan Conference Room, 22358 S. Ellsworth Road.

Regularly scheduled meetings occur quarterly (March, June, September and December). Meetings may be held more or less often, as needed.

People who are interested in serving on a board or commission may complete a notice of interest form online. Forms remain on file for 12 months.
