Olivia Jensen of Queen Creek a winner at Arizona Musicfest

Olivia Jensen of Queen Creek was among the winners of the Arizona Musicfest young musicians 2015 piano, vocal and instrumental competitions that were held in March and April.

Ms. Jensen won second place in the grades 11-12 division of the piano competition. She is a junior at Sequoia Choice Arizona Distance Learning school in Queen Creek.

The top young talent were to perform during a concert of their competition-winning selections at the Arizona Musicfest Young Musicians Winners Concert on Sunday, May 3, at the Musical Instrument Museum. 4725 E. Mayo Blvd, in Phoenix.

Nearly 100 talented young artists, grades 7-12, annually compete in the Musicfest Competitions, which are organized into divisions, based on their grade level. The judges award up to three winners per division, with many performing in the showcase winners concert.

The Queen Creek Independent publishes a daily newsletter and website. A print edition is mailed each month to 24,000 homes.
