If elected, what will you accomplish in your first 100 days in office?: Focus on the budgeting and development process for the fiscal year 2017-18 and recommend programs that continue to secure financial and economic stability for the community. Support sound public safety initiatives in the budget process that continue to promote the town’s low crime and safe community practices. Support transportation projects in the budget that advance business and industry and allow efficient movement throughout the community. Also, identify appropriate recreational opportunities for the community, such as the continued development of the town’s parks, trails and open space planning. Meet with a variety of community and civic partners, including school district and charter school leadership, chamber of commerce and business leaders, various church and religious leaders, neighborhood groups, homeowners associations and nonprofit organizations to strengthen and cultivate local relationships. Learn from these partners and recommend supportive programs that maintain the town’s quality of life. Meet with other partners to develop strong regional relationships, such as with adjacent community leadership, state legislative representatives for Queen Creek from the state and leaders from Maricopa and Pinal counties. Meet with town staff leadership and employee groups, develop a better understanding of staff roles and to encourage continuous improvement and efficiencies for staff.
What are your hopes for the town of Queen Creek? My hope for the town of Queen Creek is to honor the past, focus on the present and build for the future. The town of Queen Creek has a rich history of dedicated families who have not only formed the town of Queen Creek but also laid the foundation for a great community. I have met with members of the founding families to better understand the history of Queen Creek — where we are today and where they envisioned us going in the future. We should always remember the quality of life standard that they pursued and let their wisdom continue to guide us. My hope is that by doing so, Queen Creek will continue toward the vision of a community that provides ample opportunities for families, individuals and business to grow and prosper. The next four years are critical in strengthening the foundation of Queen Creek that we now enjoy. The citizens and leaders of Queen Creek have the rare opportunity to shape the development and progress of a town that is not quite 25 years old. My hope is, that by working together, we can make the next 25 years even better.
