Box Canyon, General Plan amendments on Aug. 10 P&Z agendas in Queen Creek

The Queen Creek Planning and Zoning Commission will meet Aug. 10 in two sessions. The work study session will begin at 6 p.m. It will be followed at 7 p.m. by the regular session. Both meetings will take place in the Queen Creek Town Hall, 22350 S. Ellsworth Road. Both meetings are free and open to the public.

Items on the work study session agenda include an overview of plans for an upcoming joint meeting of the commission with the Queen Creek Town Council and an update of the town’s General Plan Project. It also includes an overview of the four major General Plan amendments being proposed. The first of two state-required public hearings on the amendments will take place Aug. 31 at Communiversity at Queen Creek.

The regular session agenda includes public hearings and possible action on two items: RZ14-059, Box Canyon Planned Community Development Rezoning; and RZ16-050, Fire Station No. 413 Rezone.

Members of the Queen Creek Town Council were updated at their May 18 meeting about the Box Canyon Project, which could be the town’s largest rezoning application ever.  Click here to read coverage of the presentation.
