Check out new stretch of Ocotillo Road in Queen Creek before it opens to public

Town of Queen Creek officials are inviting area residents to experience a new piece of roadway before it opens to traffic.

A community party is planned for 7-9 a.m. June 18 at Ocotillo and Recker roads to celebrate the extension of Ocotillo west from Power Road to Recker.

An official ribbon-cutting will be held at 8:30 a.m., with the opportunity to walk, run, skate, skip or bike on the new roadway from 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

With the extension, Ocotillo Road is the first road that connects the town’s east and west boundaries.

For more information, including maps of the ribbon-cutting area and the road improvement project, visit the town’s website.
