Queen Creek Performing Arts Center will hold a candlelight vigil this Saturday to remember Lisa Gerhart and her two children — Kyle, 17, and Emily, 12 — who died July 25.

“It is with a very heavy heart we share the sad news of a tremendous loss to our community theater family,” a post on QCPAC’s Facebook page said July 26. “Today, the lights went out on the lives of Kyle, Emily and Lisa Gerhart. It is devastating situation. Please know that nobody has a perfect life, we all struggle; we are all human. The Queen Creek theater community is a family and we are here to support each other through all of life’s difficulties. Join us Saturday, July 30th, at 9 a.m. for a candlelight vigil to honor the lives of the Gerhart family and grieve their loss together.”

Queen Creek Performing Arts Center is at 22149 E. Ocotillo Road in Queen Creek.

On July 25, Mrs. Gerhart and her children were found dead inside their home in unincorporated Gilbert, near Recker and Ocotillo roads. Concerned neighbors had called the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office around 9 p.m. Monday after observing a vehicle with a hose running from its exhaust into a window of the home, Sheriff Joe Arpaio said during a televised press conference.

Deputies believe Mrs. Gerhart may have taken her life and the lives of her children in a probable murder-suicide. During an interview with Independent news media partner CBS 5 News, neighbor Connie Rivera said Mrs. Gerhart had told her recently that her husband had moved out.

The deaths are still under investigation.
