The Queen Creek Farmers Market will hold its grand opening Sunday, Oct. 4.

The community event will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays from Oct. 4 to March 27 in the Queen Creek Branch Library parking lot, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. Admission is free.

Patrons will have the opportunity to purchase Arizona grown fruits and vegetables while browsing goods from local vendors. There will be occasional entertainment, games (chess, tic-tac-toe, Jenga, checkers and corn hole, among others) and food trucks.

The event is sponsored by the town of Queen Creek and produced by Sunny Markets, whose mission is to establish the market as a family-friendly destination for the entire community, according to the town of Queen Creek’s website.

Added games, live music, face painting and bounce houses to keep the kids entertained while their parents shop, enjoy the food from food trucks or watch a live chef demonstration.

Sunny Markets also produces the Gilbert Farmers Market and does not charge admission.
