The Queen Creek Fire and Medical Department will open interim Fire Station 5, 980 W. Combs Road, Friday, March 1 today with station planning to service the eastern areas of the town.

The town’s 2015 Fire and Emergency Services Master Plan identifies a five-station system. Fire Station 4 is in the design phase and is slated to open in mid 2020, according to a press release.

Fire Station 4 will be on Signal Butte and Queen Creek roads.

The town is in the process of identifying a location for the permanent Fire Station 5.

QCFMD recently welcomed 14 new firefighters who completed Fire Academy 18-2. The new firefighters provide the necessary staffing levels to operate four fire stations.
