Queen Creek Relay for Life Fundraiser: 11 a.m.-9 p.m., June 22, Babbo Italian Eatery, 18521 E. Queen Creek Road, at Power Road. Restaurant will donate 20 percent of the total check to the Queen Creek Relay for Life to people who print a flier from the Tina Parkinson Facebook page (click on flier in photos) and present it at Babbo when paying. Ms. Parkinson is the relay organizer. Flier may be used for both dine-in and take-out.

Ready, Set, Read Writing Workshop with Ann Lee Miller: 9:30 a.m. June 25, Queen Creek Branch Library, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road in Queen Creek. Free. Recipient of several Reader’s Choice Awards, Ms. Miller is the author of five books, including the Amazon bestseller “Kicking Eternity.” Learn the techniques for polishing work and negotiating the rocky paths of traditional and self-publication. Whether a person write articles, short stories, novels, blogs or memoirs, this workshop will give them the tools they need to find the right market for and promote their work. Krav Maga is a self-defense system developed for the Israel Defense Forces that consists of a wide combination of techniques sourced from aikido, judo, boxing and wrestling, along with realistic fight training. Free Health Care for Uninsured/Underinsured Children: The Banner Children’s Healthmobile will offer free health care for underinsured and uninsured children from birth to age 21 from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at Banner Ironwood Medical Center, 37000 N. Gantzel Road in San Tan Valley. Do not need to live in San Tan Valley. Services include diagnosis and treatment of episodic illness, immunizations, referrals to appropriate specialty care (the cost of the specialty services are not covered by Banner School-Based Health Centers), sports and camps physicals and well-child checks.
