Recommended traffic routes in October for southeast Queen Creek

Planning to attend this year’s Pumpkin and Chili Festival at Schnepf Farms? The town of Queen Creek has issued a map and suggested travel routes intended to alleviate the increased amount of traffic in the southeast area due to events and construction.

The following routes are suggested for those who are attending Schnepf Farms’ Pumpkin and Chili Festival, which begins on Thursday, Oct. 1, and takes place every Thursday through Sunday throughout October. Schnepf Farms is at 24810 S. Rittenhouse Road.

•From the north: Take Ellsworth Road south to Rittenhouse (Ellsworth  turns into Ellsworth Loop). Turn left (southeast) on Rittenhouse and follow it south to the farm.

•From the west:
-Ocotillo Road east to Rittenhouse and Rittenhouse south to the farm; or
-Chandler Heights east to Ellsworth and Ellsworth south to Cloud. Take Cloud Road east until it ends at Rittenhouse and Rittenhouse south to the farm.
-Riggs Road east to Ellsworth and Ellsworth north to Cloud Road. Take Cloud east until it ends at Rittenhouse and Rittenhouse south to the farm.
-Hunt Highway (turns into Empire Boulevard) east to Gary Road. Take Gary Road north (it will turn into Rittenhouse Road) to the farm.

•From the south: Take Gary Road north (it will turn into Rittenhouse) to the farm.

•From the east:
-Ocotillo Road west to Rittenhouse and go south to the farm; or
-Gary Road north (it will turn into Rittenhouse) to the farm.

Current construction projects in the area include:
•Combs Road from Meridian to Gantzel
•Rittenhouse Road from Sossaman Road to Queen Creek Marketplace in downtown Queen Creek

Town officials recommend drivers plan ahead and allow extra time for travel.
