Residents invited to meeting on Sonoqui Wash trail design

The Town of Queen Creek is in the early phase of design improvements along the Sonoqui Wash, and residents are invited to a community meeting this month to give their thoughts on the trail design.

The meeting will be 8-10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, at Desert Mountain Park near the Queen Creek Wash trail.

The Sonoqui Wash runs through the southern portion of town. A trail along the wash is constructed from Power Road to Ellsworth Road, with plans to eventually continue the trail to the town’s eastern border, according to a release.

The Sonoqui Wash trail is part of the town’s future 11-mile loop that will connect the Queen Creek and Sonoqui washes.

The wash trails provide a variety of recreation opportunities and a venue for alternative forms of transportation, the release stated.
