Using the unofficial vote count, it appears Mr. Benning and Mr. Brown have met the threshold of 50 percent plus one of the total votes to win spots on the council; however, Queen Creek Town Clerk Jennifer Robinson cautioned it is premature to make a definite determination.

“There are still votes left to count,” Ms. Robinson said during a phone interview.

The final vote count, which includes ballots dropped off at polling sites on election day and provisional ballots, is required to be posted by 5 p.m. on the Friday after an election, Ms. Robinson said.

The totals below reflect totals posted at 1:23 a.m. Aug. 31 on the Maricopa County elections website http://recorder.maricopa.gov/electionresults/eresults.aspx as well as those posted on the Pinal County elections website http://www.pinalcountyaz.gov/elections/Pages/ElectionResults.aspx. Pinal County did not specify the time its results were posted.
