Schaeler responds to questions about campaign donations

Many of the candidates running for Queen Creek Town Council, including the incumbents, have accepted donations from builders and developers. (http://www.queencreek.org/departments/town-clerk/elections/campaign-finance-reports/candidates)

Doing so gives each of us an opportunity to meet and get to know those builders considering coming to our community and, obviously, helps us monetarily in our bid for a council seat, but certainly does not make us beholden to that builder.

Additionally, each of us has friends or connections from areas in the Valley who know and trust us and want to help us in our run for town council. The majority of my donations are from Queen Creek residents, and among them, only two are developers (from The Pecans, which has been a beautiful addition to QC for many years), one of which is my campaign manager who has, thankfully, donated generously to help me with my campaign.

To the individual who has asked the above question, I see no conflict nor feel any obligation to a specific builder who may come to our amazing town.
