20-25 mph afternoon and evening gusts forecast

Southwest winds will be breezy in the 7-14 mph range with afternoon/evening gusts around 20-25 mph on Wednesday, May 25, according to the Flood Control District of Maricopa County’s forecast.

“A weak weather system will move into the state (May 25) keeping the trend of below-average temperatures and breezy conditions. Afternoon highs will again only climb into the 88˚F-91˚F range around the Valley under clear skies. Similar to (May 24), southwest winds will be breezy in the 7-14 mph range with afternoon/evening gusts around 20-25 mph. The coldest temperatures of the week are expected on Thursday behind our departing system. Daytime highs should remain limited to the mid 80s despite mostly clear conditions and easing winds. Looking ahead, a modest warming trend and dry conditions are in store to finish out the work week and into the holiday weekend,” D. Henz of the flood control district wrote in a weather outlook for Maricopa County.
