Chance of rain today, into Friday morning

Rain chances will begin during the early morning hours overspreading the region from west to east, according to the Flood Control District of Maricopa County‘s forecast.

“Daytime temperatures will level off into the upper 70s to low 80s around the Valley under generally cloudy skies. West winds will generally remain in the 5-10 mph range with localized greater gusts into the evening/overnight hours. Forecast rain totals are still looking rather unimpressive with this system and therefore not expecting widespread measureable totals around the county. Current guidance depicts spotty totals across the lower deserts with anywhere from a trace to 0.25 inches and 0.25 inches to 0.50 inches spread across some of the higher terrain zones north and east of the Valley. Shower activity will be possible through the overnight hours into Friday morning until the cold front moves through the county. Heading into Friday, plan on colder highs limited to the upper 70s and localized breezy conditions throughout the day,” D. Henz of the flood control district said.
