Cloudy today and light rain showers possible Thursday

Expect a noticeable uptick in cloudiness today, according to the Flood Control District of Maricopa County‘s forecast.

Daytime temperatures will cool a few degrees into the 82˚F-85˚F range around the Valley. Southerly winds will generally remain in the 3-7 mph range with occasional greater gusts.

“Heading into Thursday, plan on cloudier conditions with chances for isolated to scattered light showers. Afternoon highs should take a step back into the upper 70s to low 80s around the Valley. Forecast rain totals look to the remain on the lighter side with best the chances across the higher terrain north and east of Phoenix. Spottier totals are expected across the lower deserts. An attendant cold front will then sweep across the region overnight Thursday into Friday bringing cooler and breezier conditions for Friday,” D. Henz of the flood control district said.
