BREAKING NEWS: Sheriff’s office releases armed robbery suspect photos, descriptions

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office has released surveillance photos as well as descriptions of the two suspects in an armed robbery that took place Wednesday night at a Queen Creek drug store.

At about 8:26 p.m. Sept. 7,  deputies from the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Queen Creek patrol division were dispatched to an armed robbery at the CVS Store No. 1719 at 7587 S. Power Road, near Germann Road, according to an e-mailed response to questions from MCSO public information officer Deputy Joaquin Enriquez.

Two men – one armed with a shotgun – entered the store and robbed the employee at gunpoint taking cash. One of the suspects assaulted a store employee with the butt of his shotgun, according to a case flier e-mailed later in the afternoon to the Queen Creek Independent by Deputy Enriquez.

He described the men as dark-skinned males, possibly Hispanic or Native American.

The case flier described the first suspect as having a dark complexion, standing about 6 feet to 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 320 pounds. The first suspect was wearing a ball cap, dark shorts, a dark T-shirt and a green bandana covering his face.

The case flier described the second suspect as having a lighter complexion, standing about 5 feet 10 inches to 5 feet 11inches tall. No weight was provided. He was wearing a gray shirt, blue jeans, a dark hoodie jacket, a dark bandana around his neck and holding a short-barreled shotgun.

One suspect covered his face with a bandana while the second suspect displayed a pump-action shotgun, according to the flier. The two suspects walked to the front of the store and ordered several customers to the front register area. Once customer was struck in the face as the suspects were held near the front, according to the report.

One suspect went behind the counter and ordered the clerk to open the register. As the clerk was doing so, the suspect struck the clerk on the side of his neck, according to the report.

The suspects fled from the store, leaving in a newer white Dodge minivan. The license plate number is unknown.

After leaving the parking lot, the suspects drove the minivan west on Germann Road, Deputy Enriquez said in his earlier e-mail.

The Gilbert and Mesa police departments assisted with the search but had negative results, the PIO said. The suspects are still at large.

The Queen Creek Independent called the CVS store this morning for more information; however, an employee said she was unable to comment.

Deputy Enriquez urges people with any information regarding this case to contact MCSO at 602 876-1011.
