The Pinal County Sheriff’s Office has canceled a silver alert it issued Oct. 5 for Ronald Kellems, 80, of Apache Junction.

He had left his home driving a family vehicle at 6 p.m. Monday. When his family did not hear from him, his daughter reported him missing.

Mr. Kellems was found unharmed at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 6 by members of the Gilbert Police Department, according to PCSO spokesman Mark Clark.

Due to his advanced state of Alzheimer’s disease, Mr. Kellems was unable to tell officers where he had been. He was returned safely to his family in Apache Junction, Mr. Clark said.

The Queen Creek Independent is mailed each month to 24,000 homes.
