Town of Queen Creek to offer new tennis classes

The Town of Queen Creek has partnered with Vance Exley Tennis to offer introductory tennis classes. Two classes are available for youth and one class is available for adults.

The classes will begin on Nov. 18 and will be held at the Recreation Annex, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. To register visit QueenCreek.org/RecRegistration.

Intro to Tennis, 3-5 year old – Wednesday at 11:15 a.m., $60 (non-resident $70)
Intro to Tennis, 5-10 year old – Wednesday at 5 p.m., $68 (non-resident $78)
Intro to Tennis for adults 50 years and up – Wednesday at noon, $60 (non-resident $70)

The youth class is a fun and exciting introduction to tennis for kids. Instructors help the players become familiar with basic tennis fundamentals and etiquette, all while developing eye-hand coordination.  Movement skills are also developed through games and exercise. The kids play tennis that is made for them on smaller courts with smaller nets and slower moving balls so they can have more fun and want to keep playing.

The adult class introduces or reintroduces the game of tennis to players who are just starting to play or have limited playing experience or movement. Players will learn the basic strokes, proper movement and rally at a slower pace. Students will play on smaller courts with portable nets and slow moving balls to help get comfortable with scoring as well as proper tennis etiquette in a fun environment.

Vance Exley Tennis is the town’s official tennis partner. For more information about the organization visit VanceExleyTennis.com.
